LAKE COUNTY, Mont. — The Board of Lake County Commissioners is lifting Stage II fire restrictions for all non-reservation county lands on Aug. 25 at 12:01 a.m.

A local state of emergency was declared on July 14 due to wildland fires burning near and in the county. However, due to recent rainfall, the restrictions will no longer be in place.

If wet weather persists, commissioners say the fall burning season will begin on Oct. 1.
