...AN AREA OF HEAVY SNOW WILL AFFECT CENTRAL MONTANA THROUGH 4 AM...

At 200 AM, an area of heavy snow was located from near Belt to
Hobson, moving south at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this area of heavy snow.

Snowfall rates near one inch per hour are possible through 4 AM
around Monarch, Neihart, Windham and Hobson.

This includes the following portions of Highway 200 from Belt
to Hobson, and Highway 89 from Belt to White Sulphur Springs.

Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this area
of heavy snow.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.

WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph,
are possible.

* WHERE...Cascade and Judith Basin.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. A few local power outages are possible. Travel may become
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles or those pulling
trailers.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Blowing and drifting snow could lead to
reduced visibility and partial lane blockages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

inches above 4000 feet, with 5 to 10 inches above 6000 feet.
Isolated higher amounts are possible over the higher peaks in
the Little Belt, Snowy, and Highwood Mountains. Winds gusting as
high as 35 mph at times.

* WHERE...Meagher, Judith Basin, Fergus and Cascade.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM MST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. Areas of blowing snow could
significantly reduce visibility. Tree or branch damage is
possible.
