UPDATE: APRIL 25 AT 4:50 P.M.

As of 4:30 p.m. April 25 search and recovery efforts are still ongoing for 3-year-old Arden Pepion.

More search and rescue teams, as well as law enforcement agencies from across Montana, have joined the search Sunday.

Civilians have been asked to remain on standby for assistance, however, Blackfeet Joint Incident Command has said only law enforcement officials and designated search teams are working for now according to the Blackfeet Covid-19 Incident Command.

UPDATE: APRIL 25 AT 3:05 P.M.

The search for missing 3-year-old Arden Pepion has been turned to a search and recovery due to cold weather conditions and the length of Arden’s disappearance PIO James McNeeley for the Blackfeet Incident Command tells Montana Right Now.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is opening the canal to reduce the water in Two Medicine River as underwater divers are searching as well as drones in the sky.

At least 25 different state and local groups are taking part in efforts to find Arden, including deputies from Lewis and Clark County and Cascade County.

There is currently no need for more volunteers as about 150 people are currently helping in the search, however, money and item donations are being taken to sustain groups on the scene.

Teams are planning on searching through the night and into the morning and will regroup and discuss Monday morning.

As of the writing of this article, Arden has not been located and the MEPA has since expired. Foul play is not suspected as of now.


UPDATE: APRIL 25 AT 11:19 A.M.

BROWNING, Mont. - The search for a missing 3-year-old on the Blackfeet Reservation has now turned into a search and recovery.

Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services (BLES) first asked for the public’s help in locating Arden Pepion on Friday, April 23.

A Missing Endangered Person Alert sent out the same day said Arden is 3-years-old, 70-pounds and is about 2 1/2 to 3-inches in height with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket with unicorn design on front, a gray under sweater, black leggings and black boots with green trim. 

Arden was last seen around 7:00 pm on April 22 in the surrounding areas of Joe Show East off US-89 S on the Blackfeet Reservation. 

A search for Arden was coordinated between BLES and several other law enforcement agencies on April 23 and Joe Show East Road was temporarily closed to through traffic.

On April 24 BLES put out a request on their Facebook at 8:53 am for volunteers to help search for Arden.

At 3:45 pm, however, Blackfeet Joint Incident Command reported the search and rescue for Arden became a search and recovery.

“Based on the elements and duration of time that has passed since she was last seen we have come to realize that it now a recovery,” a post on the Blackfeet Covid-19 Incident Command Facebook says.

As of the writing of this article, Arden has not been located and the MEPA has since expired. Foul play is not suspected as of now.


UPDATE: APRIL 24 AT 8:56 A.M. 

Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services is asking for volunteers to aide in the search for Arden Pepion.

Volunteers are asked to first check in with Sgt. Vielle at the command post on Joe Show Road East just above TJ Show's residence. 

This is needed to coordinate the search effort.

Anyone wishing to assist needs to be at least 18-years-old and wear clothing appropriate for the weather, terrain, and wild animals. Volunteers will be asked to sign a waiver.

BROWNING, Mont. - A missing endangered person advisory has been issued for 3-year-old Arden Pepion.

According to the MEPA, Arden is a Native American female and is nearly three feet tall and weighs 31 pounds and has brown eyes and dark brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a purple jacket with a unicorn design on the front, a gray sweater, black leggings, and black boots. 

Arden was last seen around 7:00 pm on April 22 in the surrounding areas of Joe Show East off US-89 S on the Blackfeet Reservation.

UPDATE: APRIL 23 AT 12:09 P.M.

An update from the Blackfeet COVID-19 Incident Command says a search and rescue is underway on the Blackfeet Reservation for missing 3-year-old Arden Pepion.

Search and rescue members include tribal, local and county officials as well as volunteers.

Arden was last seen wearing a purple jacket with a unicorn design on the front, a gray under sweater, black leggings and black boots with green trim.

The Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services say Arden was last seen in the surrounding areas of Joe Show E off of US 89 S. approximately 7:00 p.m. on April 22.

Joe Show E Road is temporarily shutdown to traffic as crews search for Arden.

The Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services said in a Facebook post they do not need additional help from the public in the search as they and other law enforcement agencies are joining efforts.

BLES added they will post a phone number at. later time for the public to dial for additional information.
