Community bands together in support of teens killed in crash

BILLINGS - Three families and the entire Billings West High School community are mourning the loss of Conner Devere, Kylie Larsen and Tommy Lindsay, after they were killed in a car crash Friday night.

The intersection at South 64th Street West and Danford Road is where the car carrying four teenagers lost control Friday, Feb. 19.

Conner Devere, 16, and Kylie Larsen, 18, died at the scene. Tommy Lindsay, 17, died at Billings Clinic on Saturday, Feb. 20. The fourth teenage boy who was in the car that night is still recovering at a local hospital.

Three separate GoFundMe pages have been organized for the teenagers who were tragically killed. According to the description on Kylie Larsen's GoFundMe page, Kylie is the second child in the Larsen family that has lost their life. Tommy Lindsay was a junior on the Billings West High Varsity football team. Loved ones who organized Conner Devere's page said he loved to hunt, fish and just be in the outdoors.

After an already tumultuous school year, classmates are mourning the loss of the three students. School District Two Superintendent Greg Upham says the School District activated their Crisis Response Team over the weekend, comprised of a highly trained team of counselors.

Substitute teachers are also on-call for staff members coping with the loss.

"I must ask the community, as this is an awesome opportunity for this, to wrap their arms around our students, and our faculty, and West High, and the Career Center and School District Two - and just work together one day at a time supporting each other to work through this, and supporting the families is just the utmost priority," Superintendent Upham said.
