BUTTE-Prom season is just around the corner and for some high school girls buying their dream dress can be costly and that is why one organization in Butte is stepping up to make sure every girl in Butte and surrounding towns can go to prom in style.

Both C.M. Russell and Great Falls high school are breaking that norm with an all female consumer mechanics class. Last semester was Mr. Ken Vanlieshout's fifth, all female class at Great Falls High.

This week teenage girls from around the united states are in Butte to learn about professions in science, technology, engineering and math fields also known as STEM.The students were at St. James hospital Tuesday to learn about careers dealing with emergency response.

A new series of mini-grants will help girls get hands on experience in stem fields in creative new ways from staring at the stars to fly fishing. The grants offer exposure to science, technology, engineering and math also known as STEM to young women who are interested in those subject areas.
