Grizzly baiting and trapping to start in Southwest Montana

With the mild winter, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks reports that some bears are starting to come out of hibernation early.

Region 3 Information and Education Manager Andrea Jones says there are two grizzlies and one black bear that are awake in their dens. She says there have been reports of other sightings in Yellowstone and Glacier National Park as well.

Tim Lynch with UDAP Bear Spray reminds outdoor enthusiasts of helpful tips to keep in mind as the bears are starting to come out early this year.

He also introduces the new “ Back Attack Pack”, developed by a Livingston man to help people who have less than a few seconds to respond in a life threatening situation.
